So what more could a cute little puppy have for over half his life other than kennel cough and pneumonia Why a Bee Sting of course. I called a 24 hour vet hospital because he can't play with bee's during regular visiting hours and she said to watch him for swelling. She referred the amount of swelling to look like a shar pei.
Lucky for me Asta has allergies (sorry Asta, not so lucky for you) He shared one of his puppy benedryl's with us. I did take this photo, you probably can't make out the swelling, will keep you informed if he does indeed turn into a shar pei over night, we are still wondering what the other half breed he has I guess that will do.
Norma helped me take out the stinger, she held him while I yanked the sucker out.
p.s. He normally doesn't have the collagen lip.

Meet the puppy sitters. Duke and Asta. Harley looks forward to this each day when the gate swings open and he is free to pounce and leap over his new best pals. He can clear the beagles in a single pounce then turn around for more hopping on the backs of either one until they gently put him in his place and vocally tell him BACK OFF BUDDY!!
I swear Asta pushed him in the pond last night while I wasn't looking!

Harley is on the mend from starting life with us Hacking and coughing with Kennel Cough poor Beagles have been banned from the yard until he is well.
Harley found out the hard way that he is a bit taller as he can no longer run effectively under his favorite bamboo bench, ouch that had to hurt...!
He is doing this weird thing with his ear it's cute, but hope it's not permanent!

Here he is, after a little search we found the right pup for us. Or as they say, he came over and licked us both in the face and was content sitting next to Rocky.
I found him on Petfinder.com. Originally inquired about this larger than life 3 month old puppy named Bruno, long story short, didn't happen, we went to check out this adorable pup, they had his name listed as Harley and we just liked it and after watching him cruise around the yard, it fit him.
Wasn't till we were good and home and everyone had checked him out when I looked at his paperwork only to find he shared his birthday with Norma! Now that is irony.

The coolest clocks I have ever made! I made one and Rocky made the other, I'm sure you can tell the difference
in the styles and types of wood. Go ahead and take a guess at which one is mine. On the left of course, I am left handed!
This class we took gave us an insight on what woodworking is all about, it boils down to a hole lotta sanding!
At least we feel confident in our safe uses of power tools. I'd like to take another class sometime, but 2 nights a week
at 4 hours each with rush hour traffic was not what I wanted to plunge back into right away. Maybe a 1 night a week
class or just a Saturday class.
We made a lot of friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I miss that already.

The day for new beginnings, the first day of good intentions of actually setting goals and following them thru the year.
New Years resolutions that die out around the 15th of February. No longer am I going to make promises to myself that
are set for a year straight. My goals will be short and written this year.
I can already say I have spent every day of 2007 taking a walk along the ocean with my best friend.
The bright sunny sky teased us as we left bundled up in sweatshirts, half way through our walk the cold turned to warmth.
Kids were playing, birds were watching and surfers were enjoying the larger than usual surf. We stood on the pier and
watched at how easy some of the surfers made it look to ride. Rainbows were shooting off the backs of the waves showing just the power of wind.
Day one and my camera is busy, day two and it is back to work.
Here's to a healthy happy and safe New Year.
Cheers.
